How we picked these pearl kits
Pearl kits are new, so most listings are only a few months old and carry fewer ratings than the classic canvases. We started from Amazon's page 1 for "pearl art kits for adults" on October 3, 2026. It held 54 pearl-titled listings with roughly 44,450 "bought in past month" purchases between them, which is more than any single theme we've counted on this site.
From there, recent sales did the first cut and ratings did the second. A kit had to show at least 900 purchases last month, or come with a large rating count, to make the list. Sponsored-only listings with a handful of reviews were left out. Each card's size and box contents come from the seller's listing. Where a listing doesn't state the canvas size or what the beads are made of, the card says "check listing" instead of guessing.

Pearl kits vs regular diamond painting
The method is identical: a sticky canvas printed with symbols, a pen with wax or clay on the tip, and a tray. What changes is the bead. How to do a pearl diamond painting
Several of the top autocomplete searches for this format are "pearl diamond painting instructions," which tells you how thin the paper inserts are. The process is the regular one with two adjustments for round beads.
- Lay the canvas flat for a day if it arrived rolled. A roller or a few heavy books speeds that up.
- Sort before you start. Pearls and drills often share a symbol chart, and some kits mix pearl sizes, so bag or tray each one separately.
- Peel back only a hand-width of film. Pearl kits leave more exposed adhesive between beads than a full drill canvas, and dust shows.
- Fill the flat drills in a section first, then the pearls. Domed pearls are the easiest thing to knock loose with a wrist or the side of a pen.
- Pick pearls up with a fresh bit of wax or clay on the pen tip, or use tweezers if the kit includes them. A pearl that rolls in the tray is easier to catch in a corner.
- Press each finished section with a sheet of release paper over it, then move on.
- Seal anything that will be handled (see below).
On sealing: brush it on, don't pour. Work the sealer around the base of each pearl where it meets the canvas, keep the domes to a thin coat and let it cure fully. Our sealer guide covers drying times by product.
Which format to buy
If you've done regular diamond paintings before, go straight to a pearl canvas. If you haven't, start with something small: the framed mini or a suncatcher teaches the pen and the pearls in an evening. Gift buyers should look at the bookmarks and ornament sets, which are cheap enough to send several. - A metal-body refillable wax pen that holds more wax than the plastic pens in most kits.
