Diamond Art Club review: what you get for the higher price

Diamond Art Club costs several times more than a no-name kit. Here's what the extra money buys, where the complaints are, and when a cheaper kit is the smarter buy.

How we pick · Updated · We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links.

Diamond Art Club (DAC) is the brand to buy when the finished painting is the point: licensed and artist-designed images, a soft canvas that ships rolled, a twist-tip pen with multi-placers, and a written promise to replace missing drills for the life of the kit. It costs several times more than a no-name Amazon kit of the same size, so it's the wrong buy for a first try or a kid's rainy afternoon. We have no relationship with the brand, and nobody sent us a kit.

How we checked Diamond Art Club

We read Diamond Art Club's FAQ and policy pages on October 13, 2026, then pulled every DAC listing we could find on Amazon with amz_product to confirm kit contents and sizes from the brand's own bullet points. Review signals come from Trustpilot and Amazon on the same day. Where we describe how a budget kit compares, the source is a named blogger who bought both, not us.

This is a "How we pick" review. We didn't buy or paint these kits; everything below comes from the brand's published policies plus public review data. How we research.

What Diamond Art Club sells

DAC started in 2018 (People of Play credits founder Angie Shehaj) and now sells far more than canvases. The home page lists canvas kits plus small formats with their own trademarked names: Lil Diamondz, Frameables, Mini and MEGA Dazzles, Sparkle Pals, Dazzle Pals (3D figures), Gem Houses, Mini Easels, Sparkle Boards, coasters, cards, bookmarks, keychains, magnets, stickers, suncatchers and calendars. Licensed lines include Disney, DC, Warner Bros., Star Wars, Peanuts, Harry Potter and more.

The size filter on the site runs from "under 12 inches" on the longest side to "40 inches and up". Smaller canvases show less detail, which the FAQ itself points out.

What's in a Diamond Art Club kit

The Amazon listings spell out the box contents more precisely than the brand's FAQ does. A standard canvas kit includes:

  • a full-drill canvas (the Stained Glass Flower kit is 13 x 13 inches; Starry Night - Night Music is 13 x 18)
  • drills sorted by color, with a few specialty colors such as aurora borealis (AB) or Fairy Dust mixed in
  • a Twist & Pick applicator with multi-placers
  • a stackable tray with a lid and a stopper
  • an inventory sheet with pre-cut sticker labels, plus resealable baggies

The canvas is the selling point the brand pushes hardest. Its home page calls it a "Premium Velvet Tarpaulin Patented Canvas", and the listings say each canvas is "hand charted for optimum clarity". Those are brand claims. What's independently documented is the general difference between a branded kit and a cheap no-name one: June Gilbank at PlanetJune compared a branded kit with a cheap Amazon kit and found the cheap canvas arrived folded and creased, had a bare patch where the glue stuck to the cover film, and used symbols so large they showed between round drills. Her branded kit (Diamond Dotz, not DAC) arrived rolled and glued edge to edge.

A rolled canvas with even glue matters most in the last hours of a big kit, when you're working the edges.

Drill shapes and specialty drills

DAC sells round and square drills, and many designs come in both. Its FAQ describes round drills as leaving small gaps for a softer sparkle and square drills as fitting edge to edge. Then there are the specialty drills, which most budget kits don't have: AB (an iridescent coating), Fairy Dust (glitter inside the drill), Electro (a metallic look), glow-in-the-dark and iridescent. Specialty drills are also sold separately to add to any kit. Not sure which shape to pick? Our square vs round guide walks through it.

Shipping, returns, missing drills

This is where DAC differs most from the stand-alone sites that ship from overseas. From the FAQ, read October 13, 2026:

PolicyWhat Diamond Art Club says
Ships fromA distribution center in Avon, Indiana
Handling timeIn-stock orders aim to ship within 24 business hours
Free shippingUS orders at $75 and up; overseas rates calculated at checkout
Won't ship toP.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses
ReturnsWithin 30 days of delivery, unused items only, you pay return postage, no restocking fee
Missing drills"Lifetime missing diamond protection" on all kits except clearance; email your order number and the DMC code
Glue that won't stickCovered by the Lifetime Warranty; contact support before trying heat, cleaners or extra adhesive
RewardsFree Insider program, points worth 10% back (15% at higher tiers), points expire 180 days after your last purchase

Two practical notes. The glue warranty only helps if you call before fixing it yourself, so don't reach for a glue pen on a DAC canvas until support has answered. And the missing-drill promise means you should keep the inventory sheet; the DMC code on it is what support asks for. Our missing drills guide covers what to do with brands that don't offer this.

What are Treasure Quest cards?

Treasure Quest cards are small collectible cards that sometimes turn up inside DAC canvas kits. The FAQ is blunt about it: they "may be included in core canvas kits, but they are never guaranteed." Resellers sometimes list "Treasure Quest card included" as a selling point, which tells you people value them, but the brand doesn't promise one in any particular box. We couldn't confirm from the brand's pages what each card can be redeemed for, so check the card itself if you find one.

What customers say

On October 13, 2026, Diamond Art Club's Trustpilot page showed a 4.8 TrustScore from 4,176 reviews: 94% five-star and 2% one-star. On Amazon, the DAC canvas kits we checked carry 4.8 stars on listings with roughly 1,800 to 2,200 ratings (the count is shared across designs), and the Stained Glass Flower kit ranked #15 in Amazon's Diamond Painting Kits category that day.

The praise is about the canvas, the drill sparkle and the packaging. The complaints are worth reading too, because they repeat: support emails that went unanswered, shipping delays in busy periods, and missing pieces. Trustpilot also notes the company "hasn't replied to negative reviews". Higher prices come up in low-star reviews as well. None of this is unusual for a brand this size, but it's why the written guarantee matters: if something goes wrong, you have a policy to point to.

One more caution. A lot of what ranks for "Diamond Art Club review" is sponsored. One well-known how-to post says it's "a sponsored post on behalf of Diamond Art Club" with a free kit, and another review carries a brand-supplied discount code. That doesn't make them wrong, but they aren't independent.

Diamond Art Club vs a budget Amazon kit

A fair comparison is a 13 x 13 inch DAC kit against a similar-size budget kit, like the SHICERNHJ hummingbird kit (13.8 x 13.8 inches, 4.7 stars from 1,818 ratings, about 3,000 bought last month). Both are full drill and round. Here's where each one wins:

Five Diamond Art Club kits worth a look on Amazon

These are the DAC listings on Amazon with the most sales and ratings when we checked. They're sold under the DIAMOND ART CLUB brand name, so the contents match what the brand describes.

Best first DAC kit

Diamond Art Club Stained Glass Flower

The best seller of the bunch, at about 700 bought last month and #15 in Amazon's Diamond Painting Kits rank. At 13 inches square it's a weekend-to-two-weeks project rather than a month-long one, and the stained-glass design suits round drills, where the small gaps between drills read like leading lines. Artist: Peggy Collins.

  • Canvas13 x 13 in, full drill
  • Drillsround, 53 colors incl. 3 AB and 1 Fairy Dust
  • ToolsTwist & Pick applicator with multi-placers, stackable tray

Why it stands out

  • Manageable size for a first premium kit
  • Specialty AB and Fairy Dust colors included
  • Strong sales and rank

Think twice if

  • 53 colors is a lot of sorting for a small canvas

Best square-drill pick

Diamond Art Club Starry Night - Night Music

If you want the crisp, edge-to-edge look of square drills, this is the DAC listing to start with. Sixty-three colors on a 13 x 18 canvas means plenty of shading in the sky. Square drills take a little longer to line up, so keep a straight edge handy.

  • Canvas13 x 18 in, full drill
  • Drillssquare, 63 colors incl. 3 AB
  • ArtistWanda Mumm / Ansada

Why it stands out

  • Square drills for a tiled finish
  • Lots of colors for smooth gradients

Think twice if

  • Square rows drift if you rush
  • Fewer sales than the round kits (about 300 last month)

Best landscape

Diamond Art Club Red Covered Bridge

A classic landscape in landscape orientation, which makes it one of the easier DAC kits to frame in a standard horizontal frame. Five AB colors put the shimmer where light would hit the water and snow.

  • Canvas17 x 13 in, full drill
  • Drillsround, 45 colors incl. 5 AB
  • ArtistChuck Pinson

Why it stands out

  • Fewer colors than the flower kit, so faster sorting
  • Wide format for over a sofa or desk

Think twice if

  • Lots of red in one area if you dislike long color runs

Simplest DAC kit

Diamond Art Club Milo the Cat

Only 26 colors, which is the fewest of any DAC kit we checked. That makes it the gentlest premium kit for someone moving up from cheap kits, or a good gift for a cat person who's done a few paintings. The five Fairy Dust colors add glitter in the fur and eyes.

  • Canvas13 x 13 in, full drill
  • Drillsround, 26 colors incl. 5 Fairy Dust
  • ArtistAristokati

Why it stands out

  • Fewest colors, least sorting
  • Fairy Dust drills included

Think twice if

  • Small, so less detail than a bigger canvas

Best licensed kit

Diamond Art Club Hogwarts Crest Fine - Oddities

The licensed kits are where DAC has the clearest edge over budget sellers, many of whom sell character art without a license. This Hogwarts crest kit holds 4.9 stars from 213 ratings. At 17 x 24 inches it's a real project; our time estimate guide puts a canvas this size in the several-week range for most people.

  • Canvas17 x 24 in, full drill
  • Drills46 colors incl. 4 AB
  • LicenseHarry Potter

Why it stands out

  • Official Harry Potter license
  • Highest rating of the kits here

Think twice if

  • The listing doesn't state round or square in its bullets; check the option on the listing
  • Big canvas needs a big table

Questions people ask

Is Diamond Art Club worth it?
It is if the finished piece matters to you: a licensed or artist-designed image, a soft canvas that arrives rolled, a better pen and a written missing-drill guarantee. If you're trying the hobby for the first time or buying a kit for a child, a budget kit from Amazon is the cheaper way to find out whether you like it.
Where does Diamond Art Club ship from?
Its FAQ says orders ship from a distribution center in Avon, Indiana, and in-stock orders aim to leave within 24 business hours (weekends and holidays excluded). It doesn't deliver to P.O. boxes or APO/FPO addresses.
Does Diamond Art Club sell on Amazon?
Yes. A storefront under the DIAMOND ART CLUB brand name sells kits plus accessories such as release paper, a light pad, pens and a storage organizer. Buying direct gets you the Insider rewards points; buying on Amazon gets you Amazon's own return process.
What are Diamond Art Club Treasure Quest cards?
Small cards that sometimes come packed in Diamond Art Club canvas kits. The brand's FAQ says they may be included in core canvas kits but are never guaranteed, so don't buy a kit just for the card.
Are Diamond Art Club kits round or square?
Both. Many designs are offered in either shape, while some come in only one size and shape chosen by the designer. Of the Amazon listings we checked, Stained Glass Flower, Red Covered Bridge and Milo the Cat use round drills and Starry Night - Night Music uses square.
Does Diamond Art Club replace missing drills?
Yes. Every kit except clearance items comes with what the brand calls lifetime missing diamond protection. Email support with your order number and the DMC code of the missing color.
