The best diamond painting companies, compared on the policies that matter

Every brand says its canvas is premium. What actually separates a good experience from a bad one is where the kit ships from, what happens when drills are missing, and whether you can return it. Here's that comparison for six brands.

How we pick · Updated · We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links.

Diamond Art Club is the best diamond painting company for most people who want a kit worth framing: it ships from Indiana, promises to replace missing drills for the life of the kit, and has the strongest review record of any brand we checked. Diamond Dotz is the pick if you want a brand you can buy in a store. For a cheap first kit, skip the brand sites and buy a well-rated budget kit on Amazon. And read the shipping page of any stand-alone store before paying, because two of the six companies below ship most orders from overseas in two to eight weeks.

How we compared these companies

On October 13, 2026 we read each company's own policy pages, then recorded its Trustpilot score and review count the same day. For brands that sell on Amazon, we pulled their listings to confirm contents and sales. We didn't rank on canvas softness or drill sparkle, because every brand claims both and we haven't painted a kit from each. We ranked on things you can check before you pay.

This is a "How we pick" guide. No brand paid to be included or sent us kits. How we research.

A note on what already ranks for this search: the top list we found is labeled as a paid local advertisement, and a sourcing blog's "top 3" names no source for its sales rankings. Neither tells you what happens when your parcel is late.

The companies, one by one

Diamond Art Club: best overall

The policy column is where DAC pulls ahead: a US warehouse, a written lifetime promise on missing drills, an adhesive warranty, and 4,176 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.8. It sells artist and licensed designs (Disney and Star Wars among them) in round and square, plus specialty drills like AB and Fairy Dust. The main complaints on Trustpilot are slow support replies and delays in busy periods, and it costs several times more than a budget kit. Full details in our Diamond Art Club review.

Diamond Dotz: best for buying in a store

Diamond Dotz (from Needleart World) is the brand most likely to be on a shelf near you; its FAQ names Walmart. It replaces missing drills even for kits bought from a retailer. Two things to know: of the 420 canvas kits on its site, 257 are partial drill, and its color codes start at A01 in each kit instead of matching DMC numbers. See our Diamond Dotz review.

Heartful Diamonds: best stand-alone site for custom kits

Heartful Diamonds is upfront about where its kits come from: made on demand in its own factory in China. It's also the most generous on returns of the six: a refund or replacement within 90 days of delivery for faulty or unsatisfactory kits. Custom kits take 5 to 7 business days to make before shipping, US delivery is 6 to 10 business days after dispatch, and standard shipping is free over $80. Its Trustpilot score was 4.6 from 66 reviews. It doesn't sell on Amazon that we could find, so here's the official site, not an affiliate link: heartfuldiamonds.com.

Crystal Art: best for cards and pre-framed canvases

Crystal Art is Craft Buddy's UK brand of diamond painting, best known for 18 x 18 cm card kits, Harry Potter sticker albums and 30 x 30 cm canvases that come mounted on a wooden frame. In the US it turns up on Amazon and in hobby shops, usually with few ratings. Our Crystal Art vs diamond painting guide explains the formats.

Paint With Diamonds: big catalog, slow shipping

Paint With Diamonds has a large catalog of round and square kits, full or partial, from 20 x 20 cm up to 90 cm wide, and it offers free replacement diamonds. Its FAQ is clear that most kits ship from Henan Province, China, with average delivery of 30 to 60 days to the US, apart from a small set of US-stock kits that arrive in 2 to 4 business days. Its unclaimed Trustpilot profile showed 1.8 from 15 reviews, mostly about delivery and refunds. Only order if the kit is in the fast-shipping collection or you can wait two months.

Diamond Painting Pro: skip for anything urgent or custom

A real store with a poor review record: 1.6 on Trustpilot from 64 reviews, with complaints about month-plus waits and refused refunds. Its policies say it ships from overseas in 7 to 28 days and won't refund custom kits. Our Diamond Painting Pro review has the details and a late-order checklist.

Where diamond painting kits are actually made

People search "diamond painting factory" because they suspect every brand buys from the same place. Partly true. Heartful Diamonds and Paint With Diamonds both say their kits come from facilities in China, and Diamond Painting Pro ships from "custom printing facilities located overseas". Diamond Art Club describes itself as US-based, ships from Indiana and says it makes its resin in-house, but its pages don't say where canvases are printed. What a brand adds on top of the factory is real, though: who charts the design, whether the art is licensed, how many spare drills go in the bag, and whether anyone answers when drills are missing.

Brands you can buy on Amazon

Amazon is the easiest place to compare, because the return process is the same whoever the seller is. These are the brand listings we'd start with, plus one budget kit for contrast.

How to judge any company's kits before you buy

A Lazada buying guide we read lists sensible criteria, and they match what hobby bloggers report from side-by-side comparisons. Check the listing or product page for:

  • an inventory sheet with DMC codes, so missing colors are easy to report and leftovers match other kits
  • glue that runs to the edge of the design, so border drills stay put
  • the printed image size, not just the canvas size, which includes a blank border
  • buyer photos of the finished piece, not just a digital mockup
  • a license note on character art
  • whether the canvas ships rolled or folded (folded leaves creases)

Our square vs round guide helps with the drill choice, and the best kits for adults list applies these checks to specific kits.

If you only remember one thing

Find the words "ships from" before you check out. A US warehouse and a written missing-drill promise prevent most of the bad experiences people post about. On that test, Diamond Art Club is the safest premium choice and Diamond Dotz the easiest to buy locally.

Questions people ask

What is the best diamond painting company?
For most people buying a kit they plan to frame, Diamond Art Club: it ships from Indiana, offers lifetime missing-drill protection, and had a 4.8 Trustpilot score from more than 4,000 reviews on October 13, 2026. For a cheap first kit, a well-rated budget kit on Amazon is the better value.
Which diamond painting companies ship from the USA?
Diamond Art Club ships from a distribution center in Avon, Indiana. Diamond Dotz's US store ships to the US and Canada within about a week of processing, and its kits are also sold at Walmart. Paint With Diamonds and Diamond Painting Pro ship most orders from overseas, with some US-stock collections.
Where are diamond painting kits made?
Most are made in China, including several premium brands. Heartful Diamonds says its kits are made on demand in its own factory in China, and Paint With Diamonds says most kits ship from facilities in Henan Province. What differs between brands is charting, licensing, warehousing and support, not the basic materials.
Are cheap diamond painting kits worth it?
For a first try, yes, if you pick a well-rated one. Bloggers who've compared them report more creased canvases, patchy glue and symbols that show between drills in cheap kits, so don't spend weeks on a cheap kit you plan to frame.
Is Diamond Art Club better than Diamond Dotz?
They suit different painters. Diamond Art Club has more full-drill, square and specialty-drill options and a lifetime missing-drill promise. Diamond Dotz is mostly round and partial drill, sells in stores like Walmart, and replaces missing drills even for retail purchases.
What should I look for in a diamond painting company?
A clear 'ships from' location, a return window you can live with, a written missing-drill process, an inventory sheet with DMC codes in the kit, and a review profile with hundreds of reviews rather than a handful.
