How we picked these kits
On October 13, 2026 we searched Amazon for anime and Pokemon diamond painting kits and read every listing that had real ratings. We left out kits built on recognizable franchise characters with no license, which ruled out most of the results. What's left is original anime-style art and Japanese scenery, plus kids' and coaster sets. Sizes and contents come from each listing.
This is a "How we pick" guide. We compared listings and ratings; we didn't paint these kits ourselves. How we research.
The licensing problem
Search "diamond painting anime" and you'll see Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece and Totoro everywhere. In our searches, none of those listings stated a license. Some go out of their way to avoid the name: one kit was titled "Demon Movies Hunters", a near-miss on a famous series. That's the tell.
The companies that do license characters for diamond painting have published who they work with. Diamond Art Club's trade-show listing names Disney, Marvel, Mattel, Warner Bros. Discovery, Peanuts, Harry Potter and Paramount (Nickelodeon), and Craft Buddy's Crystal Art sells Disney and Harry Potter designs. We found no anime studio on those lists. Unlicensed kits also tend to use low-resolution screenshots, so faces come out blotchy. Original art drawn for the format avoids both problems.
Why anime works so well in drills
Diamond painting turns a picture into flat dots of color. Anime and manga art is already built that way: flat cel shading, a limited palette and bold dark outlines. That's why it reads cleanly even at 30x40 cm, where a realistic portrait would need twice the canvas.
